March 20-22, 2026: Retreat: Creating Life Amid Faith Shifts

Salt Lake City, Utah

Retreat Leaders:
Dan Wotherspoon, Ph.D.
Jana Spangler, IPC
Jody England Hansen

We are each on our own faith journey, and most of the time we feel disoriented. We know the grief and pain we experience as the loss of certainty, of a clear path forward, or feeling isolated among those with whom we have been close. As we work to integrate our lives within both the largest and smallest contexts, we seek anew to know who we are. We want to understand ourselves and the many influences on our lives that have led us to the place we are now, emotionally and spiritually. If you feel called to live life from a deeper, more authentic place, to find a community that supports you, and to honor the gifts of your spiritual transformation while being open to many more truths in a safe, loving environment, this retreat is for you!

Our retreats provide a window into the richness of spiritual life through open-hearted engagement with others, balanced with many opportunities for self-reflection and discovery. As we deepen our own spirituality, we awaken our creativity and openness to exploration. We begin to re-orient toward our beliefs, our faith, our own life differently. What can feel right now like deep loss can transform wonderful new ways to draw on deeper resources than we had before. An important part of that journey calls on us to expand our spiritual practices, and this retreat will offer encouragement to explore these new possibilities.

  • Find safety, deep empathy, and community with fellow seekers
  • Find refuge and a break from the noise and stress of no longer being quite as “certain” as we once were
  • Explore questions of God and the Divine from the context of where we have been, where we are now, and where we hope to go
  • Have conversations that we have been yearning to have but never dared to try
  • Expand our vision of the possibilities about what our lives can look like in or out of church, and with family and others, when we deepen our spiritual understandings
  • Learn about (and take part in) different spiritual practices, including meditative and contemplative exercises with trusted guidesind safety and community with fellow seekers.
  • Explore questions of God and the Divine from the context of where you have been, where you are now, and where you are going.
  • Learn about and take part in different spiritual practices, including meditative and contemplative practices with trusted guides.

In choosing to attend, you are saying you want “more” from your spiritual journey—more depth, richness, understanding, and experiencing! More you! More fellow travelers in this creative and loving journey that life is calling us to!

Cost: We work on a voluntary donation model rather than fixed fees. For this retreat we recommend a donation of $350 for individuals and $600 for couples, but you are free to donate what you can. Two friends registering together qualify for the reduced couples’ rates. Scholarships are also available, and you are welcome to ask us about them.
